Visit Enchanting Souss Valley, Morocco

Morocco had been on my radar and had intrigued me for quite some years.  The images of exotic souks, peddling everything from curries, to wool rugs, to handmade leather slippers seduced me.  If those things call to you too, then your time in Morocco should include at least three or four days in Marrakesh.

Why Visit Bordeaux?

Bordeaux is synonymous with wine making and for good reason.  For centuries the region has been a producer of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blends.  And for many, that connection is the extent of what they think Bordeaux has to offer.  It is no longer the only reason to visit Bordeaux.

Oh So Worth It Splurges in Iceland

You probably have already heard that Iceland is very expensive.  Well, those stories are all true.  I will admit, I never did get used to the $5 half a cup of coffee.  But don’t despair.  Even if you don’t have a tremendous travel budget, an exciting and adventurous vacation can still be yours in Iceland.

7 Tips for Winter Traveling in Iceland

So, you have probably heard that Iceland is green and Greenland is icy.  There is a myth about war faring Vikings naming the nations, to give the wrong impression to their enemies.  Well, that story is a myth, but indeed, Iceland is currently warmer and greener than Greenland due to the Gulf Stream.

A Magical Day at the Glaciers – Touching the Ice in Iceland

I had read about how remote and stunning the scenery was in Southern Iceland.  It is considered by many to be the most striking in the whole country.  Lava fields, huge waterfalls, glaciers, glacial lagoons, black sand beaches, craggy mountains, ice caves, horses with their manes blowing in the wind,

Catacombs and La Dame de Pic

Oct. 7:  We are back from what has become our annual dinner at Anne-Sophie’s.  Our busy day started out with what has become our annual attempt to visit The Catacombs.  Two years ago, we showed up bright and early on a Monday morning only to discover that The Catacombs are closed on Mondays.

Exploring Ria Formosa

Oct. 19:  Well, travel can wear you down, or at least I should say it can wear me down.  Despite it being the end of summer weather, I have managed to get a bit of a cold.  But I wasn’t going to let something like that stop me.

Walking In Sagres and the Alentejan Coast

Oct. 21:  I awoke just in time to catch the colorful sunrise off our balcony.  The sunrise was almost as pretty as the sunset last night.  The extra sleep and grocery isle healing was working its magic and for this I was grateful.  This being said, Dan and I adjusted our meeting time with Carla who was going to take us walking in Sagres.

With Wallowa Llamas into Eagle Cap Wilderness

Jul. 23 and 24:  Dan and I are absorbing the clean mountain air up at 8,500 feet in the northeastern corner of Oregon.  Now that’s a long way from home, at least when using a car and not a plane to get here.  Last autumn Dan mentioned that he got an email from Raz that the 2016 Wallowa Llamas schedule was released and it was right then that we picked the dates to go on a trek into Eagle Cap Wilderness.
