Faro to Cabo de São Vicente

Oct. 20:  Palatial life – now this, we can get used to.  We are hanging at the Palace, pretending we are royalty.  Is there a better way to spend an evening?  Our morning began with the massages I had scheduled yesterday.  I was really looking forward to some much needed self-care time.

Exploring Anchorage — Jan 31

It’s 10am and I am watching the sun peek over the Chugach Mountains.  It’s a sight I could get used to, this is for sure.  Dan wanted to go for a vigorous morning walk and I am catching up on blogging.  Always a challenge to write when traveling, as there is more adventuring to be had.

A Marais Jewish Day — Oct 4

Today is cooler, I can tell, simply by the open window in the kitchen and the cool air drifting in through it. Yesterday was a very full day and I hope I can recall all the details, before they blend together, like a nice creamy soup on a cool, autumn day.

Vieux Lyon & Croix-Rousse — Oct 7

Artelit is a sweet place, and I am glad we found this gem. I smile whenever I turn around, or try to lay my head on something and knock into some piece of art.

We started the day with 20 minutes of yoga. It was difficult to do yoga in Paris,

Fourvière & Paul Bocuse — Oct 8

I am in Provence now, dedicating a quiet evening to blogging. It’s quite peaceful and welcoming and cozy. And I am determined to not fall behind, or at least catch up when I fall behind, before I fall even further behind. OK – enough of this, let’s go back a couple days to Lyon,

Bonjour Provence — A Day Around Gordes

Here I sit, on a rainy evening in Gordes, very happy to be cozy inside and listening to the rain fall outside.

Yesterday was a brilliantly sunny day. I actually got to wear a summer dress that I got at a second hand store at home with Provence in mind.

Exploring Haute Provence — Oct 12

A rainy evening in Provence. I am sure after a hot and dry summer, the earth is just soaking up all the rain right now and rejoicing. Back at home in Oregon, it has been in the 80’s and simply not letting summer go. If I wasn’t in France, I’d be a tad envious now.

Roman Arles — Oct 16

It’s our last day to enjoy the spa and we do. It’s a great perk of being at this modest and sweet hotel. On our few days here, we have passed by this and that, but we haven’t really done Arles in full, and today, we will. It’s a small town and one can get around on foot,

Amsterdam Jewish Day — Oct 22

I was interested in doing a Jewish day in Amsterdam.  I had done one in France and, being Jewish, it just made sense.  I biked to Nieuwmarkt, which is very central to the city and where the Jewish history and current culture is centered.  First I had a late breakfast at an Indonesian deli,

Halfway on Road to Hana — May 29

I am an early riser by nature, but when hanging in the tropics, I am even more so. The first sign of dawn and I am up and at ’em. The mosquitos had a field day on me last night, but I scratched myself like a mad woman and shrugged it off.
